This is an illustration of my newly improved uterus:

Maybe my sex drive will come back now that I will not be taking birth control pills anymore? One (or, actually, two) can only hope!

Yes, exactly! Pills had totally removed ANY desire to have sex AT ALL. Just ask Cheyn. This will hopefully help.

I really hope mine doesn't get rejected by my body. I have two insurances, and neither cover! $750 is a LOTLOTLOT of money to get thrown in the garbage. I'm glad you enjoy yours. It seems that it will make life a little easier.

There are Planned Parenthoods, and I did call them. They were booked for eons, and only certain clinics do the actual insertions. All of the insertion clinics were far away from my house. I work for a family planning clinic, and we don't do IUDs yet. My boss told me they didn't have a consent form written up, even though our doctor said she would be more than happy to insert it for me. So, work was a no-go. I finally got fed up and just scheduled with my GYN, since it was so simple and easy to do. meh.

It hurt a bit, but I was expecting it to. Basically, the doctor has to use a tenaculum (sp?) to grab on to your cervix to pull it forward. That feels like a pinch and some pressure. Then there's another cramp, I'm assuming to open the cervix a bit to get to the uterus. Then, there's the actual insertion, which is another cramp. They're pretty intense cramps, but it's a really quick kind of thing, like one minute or so. I just got it today, so I'll update you later on the bleeding and things, just because I'm on my period now, so I really don't know! I feel fine, except I've had cramps continuously all day. I took a Motrin 800 at 9:30AM before going to the doctor, another at 5:30PM, and now at 9:45, I just took three extra strength Tylenol. They're MUCH better now, I can't really feel them that much anymore.

Whew, that was a paragraph. So, all and all, I just hope it doesn't get rejected by my body and that it stays put and works!

My maleness must be showing, but I don't get what I'm supposed to be seeing. I feel like I'm looking at a Magic Eye picture in a mall trying to see a sailboat. :)

fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, IUD in uterus, cervix. Ask your girlfriend. ;) <3

(What I SHOULD have said was: OMG NNY, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE PICTURE IS OF! A SAILBOAT!)

I took Anatomy to get my degree. I know the general parts. But what's an IUD? :)

I knew it was a sailboat and not a schooner!
